BNP-Jamaat govt issued 66,000 fake FF certificates: Minister

JAMALPUR, Mar 19 (BSS): Land Minister Alhaj Rezaul Karim Hira said here today that the past BNP-Jamaat government issued 66,000 fake certificates of freedom fighters during its five-year rule.
Mentioning that the anti-liberation forces Jamaat-Shibir are still active against the freedom fighters, the greatest sons of this soil, he urged them to remain alert against any conspiracy of Jamaat-Shibir.
The Land Minister was speaking as the chief guest at a meeting for distribution of cheques among the families of late freedom fighters at Deputy Commissioner's conference room here.
He said the previous Awami League government under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina first introduced the system of giving state honour to freedom fighters after death.
Chaired by Deputy Commissioner Kamol Krishna Bhattacharya, the function was addressed, among others, by District Awami League President Advocate Shahidullah.
