A delegation of 14-party alliance expressed on Sunday their concern to the Election Commission (EC) assuming that the BNP-Jammat led by BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia may create vandalism, anarchy and disorder in a planned way on the day of city corporation polls, reports BSS.
"She (Khaleda Zia) can make any kind of ill-attempt on the polls day," General Secretary of Sammyabadi Dal Dilip Barua, leading the delegation, told Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Qazi Rakibuddin Ahmed at the city's EC office.
The delegation also handed over a written complaint to the EC signed by Awami League Presidium Member and 14-party spokesperson Mohammed Nasim.
The complaint said Khaleda Zia is continuing to violate electoral code of conduct by conducting election campaign through motorcade and it is part of a conspiracy to make the city corporation polls questionable and make the political situation unstable again.
It said the countrymen believe that this kind of act is synonymous to provocation. It is provocative in hampering the present peaceful democratic atmosphere and a planned conspiracy for snatching voting rights of people, it said.
