Police have arrested Ishraque Hossain, a BNP leader and son of late BNP leader and former mayor of Dhaka City Corporation (DCC) Sadek Hossain Khoka, from the city's Motijheel area, reports BSS.
"Ishraque Hossain was arrested from Motijheel area at about 11:00 am today (Wednesday)," deputy commissioner (Motijheel Division) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Md Abdul Ahad told the news agency.
He said police arrested Ishraque, a former mayoral candidate of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC), as he was wanted in a case.
Police arrested the BNP leader when he was distributing leaflets in Motijheel area protesting price hike of essential commodities.
