Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud said on Tuesday BNP and Jatiya Oikyafront are repeatedly going to foreigners as they have gone politically bankrupt and isolated from the people, reports BSS.
"People are the owners of the state. But BNP and Oikyafront have no trust on the people. So, they are repeatedly going to foreigners and insulting the nation," he told a press conference at his secretariat office here.
Earlier, Hasan exchanged views with the members of 'Bangladesh Climate Change Journalists Forum'.
He said BNP and Oikyafront leaders should go to the people instead of the foreigners as the countrymen are the owners of the state. They (BNP and Oikyafront) are showing their bankruptcy by going to foreigners again and again, he added.
The minister said Dr Kamal Hossain and Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir went to the USA ambassador on Monday last. "I think if their party is for the country's people, they should go to its people, not the foreigners," he added.
About public hearing of BNP and Oikyafront, Hasan said the countrymen saw it as 'public sleeping' through the social media. They did not make any appeal to the common people through this public hearing, he said, adding, "I think they also need public hearing to know the role of their leaders."
