Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan said on Friday BNP is staging a drama with its joint secretary general Salahuddin Ahmed, reports BSS.
"BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia helped him to flee and the party has been resorting to falsehood with the incident centering him," he said.
The minister said this while speaking as the chief guest at the 17th annual general meeting of Anubhab Cooperative Society at the hall room of the Institution of Engineers in the city.
Shahjahan Khan alleged that the BNP-Jamaat combine has been indulging in minority persecution at different places in the country.
"Not the minority community alone, but we all have to build united resistance against such heinous activities," the minister said. He alleged that BNP-Jamaat combine got involved in terrorism and militancy as they want to turn Bangladesh into a Taliban state. But, he said the forces loyal to independence should be united to uproot terrorism and militancy from the country.
President of the Society Hiralal Bala chaired the AGM, also addressed, among others, by state minister for youth and sports Biren Shikdar, former
DIG Satya Ranjan Baroi, Engineer Manas Kumar Mitra, president of Dhaka City unit of the Society Atul Chandra Mondol and vice-president Phani Bhusan Roy.
