BNP has stood by a newborn girl, abandoned at the pediatric ward of Dinajpur Medical College Hospital by an unidentified couple in their 50s with a note describing them as ‘victim of circumstance’, reports BSS.
A BNP statement said on Saturday the members of its Legal Assistance Cell for Oppressed Women and Children" and "Health Support Cell for Oppressed Women and Children” visited the hospital and assured authorities of the facility that they would extend their full cooperation in providing any necessary support for the newborn. According to reports a couple in their 50s on Thursday left the hospital saying the mother of the girl was coming from downstairs.
