BNP to be ruined if it doesn\\\'t take part in 2019 polls: Nasim

An Awami League (AL) senior leader said on Tuesday as a political party BNP will be ruined if it does not take part in the national polls of 2019, reports BSS.

"Begum Khaleda Zia will have to take recourse to healthy politics refraining from all sorts of conspiracies severing relationship with the Jamaat circle," said Awami League presidium member Mohammad Nasim.

"The next election to the Jatiya Sangsad will be held under Prime Minister Sheikh in 2019 and her party (BNP) will have to participate in the polls then," the health and family welfare minister added.

The minister said this while speaking as the chief guest at a public rally organised at his Kazipur home constituency, marking the laying of foundation stone of the five-storey Dak Bungalow building in the district.

Deputy Commissioner Billal Hossain presided over the rally, also addressed, among others, by Superintendent of Police Miraj Uddin Ahmed, Chief Executive Officer of District Council Mahbubur Rahman, District Awami League general secretary Golam Kibria, Upazila Chairman Mozammel Haque Sarkar Bakul, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Shafiul Islam, Upazila Awami League president Shawkat Hossain and general secretary Khalilur Rahman.

Mohammad Nasim said, "BNP and Jamaat have dug their own graves by pursuing politics of killing and taking people as hostages. They tried to jeopardise the country's development retarding economic growth unleashing arson and vandalism. But, people of the country foiled their evil activities."
