Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced a 15-day programme, including five road marches, as part of their ongoing one point-movement demanding resignation of the government at a press briefing at the party chairperson's Gulshan office in the capital on Monday.
BNP will hold rallies at Keraniganj in Dhaka and Tongi in Gazipur today (Tuesday). BNP standing committee members Mirza Abbas and Dr Abdul Moin Khan will be present in the rally at Keraniganj, while other standing committee members Gayeshwar Chandra Roy and Amir Khashru Mahmud Chowdhury will be present in the rally at Tongi.
The party will hold a road-march on Bhairab-Brahmanbaria-Habiganj- Moulvibazar-Sylhet route on Thursday, where Gayeshwar Chandra Roy and Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury will be present.
On Friday, BNP will hold rallies at Jatrabari and Uttara in the capital. Mirza Abbas and Dr Abdul Moin Khan will be present in Jatrabari rally, while Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will be present in Uttara rally.
There will be a road-march on Barishal-Jhalkathi-Pirojpur-Patuakhali route on Saturday, where standing committee members Nazrul Islam Khan and Selima Rahman will be present.
Rallies will be held on September 25 at Naya Bazar and Amin Bazar in Dhaka. Standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan will be present in the rally at Naya Bazar, while Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury and Selima Rahman will be present in Amin Bazar rally.
A road-march will be held on September 26 in Khulna division, where Mirza Abbas and Gayeshwar Chandra Roy will be present.
Rallies will be held at Gabtali in Dhaka and Fatullah in Narayanganj on September 27. Nazrul Islam Khan and Selima Rahman will be present in Gabtoli rally, while Dr Abdul Moin Khan and Amir Khashru Mahmud Chowdhury will be present in Fatullah rally.
There will be a women's rally in the capital on September 29, where Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy and Selima Rahman will be present.
There will be a convention of workers on September 30 in the capital, where Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Mirza Abbaas and Nazrul Islam Khan will be present.
BNP will also organise a road-march from Mymensingh to Kishoreganj on October 1, where Dr Abdul Moin Khan and Nazrul Islam Khan will be present.
There will be a farmers' rally in the capital on October 2, where Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Gayeshwar Chandra Roy will be present.
There will be a road-march on Cumilla-Feni-Mirsarai-Chattogram route on October 3, where Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury will be present.
BNP said apart from these programmes, the lawyers' programmes will continue, and all opposition parties will extend their support to their movement.
