BNP to hold nationwide rally today

Opposition BNP will hold rally across the country today (Thursday) to protest the spreading of propaganda in and outside parliament against Ziaur Rahman, Khaleda Zia and Tarique Rahman, reports UNB. BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the programme at a press briefing at the party's central office at Nayapaltan Wednesday. He said people are frustrated over the verdict of the High Court regarding Col Taher. He alleged that Col Taher at that time was involved in attempts to destroy the army by creating Ganobahini inside the army. Fakhrul said those conspirators now in cooperation with the government are taking political issues to court to divide the nation. Earlier, a joint meeting of BNP, its front and associate organisations was held at the party office.
