A partial view of namaj-e-janaza of former president of the Supreme Court Lawyers Association and BNP vice-chairman Advocate Khondkar Mahbub Hossain (inset) held on the Supreme Court premises in the city on Sunday — Focus Bangla Senior lawyer and BNP Vice-Chairman Khandaker Mahbub Hossain died at Evercare Hospital on Thursday night. He was 84, reports UNB.
Mahbub passed away at the hospital at 10:45pm, Sayrul Kabir Khan, a BNP media cell member, said.
On Wednesday, the BNP leader was put on a ventilator at Evercare a day after being admitted there with a respiratory problem, Sayrul added.
Mahbub, former vice-president of the Bangladesh Bar Council and president of the Supreme Court Bar Association, was one of the lawyers of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia.
His body was taken to his residence at Malibagh Chowdhury Para in the city. He will be buried in the Azimpur graveyard today (Monday) after another namaz-e-janaza in Malibagh Chowdhury Para, said his junior lawyer Masud Rana.
