Awami League (AL) Joint General Secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim on Saturday said BNP wants to gain political interest capitalising on pubic sufferings, reports BSS.
Nasim was speaking at a programme on the occasion of winter-clothe distribution in the city's Motijheel area on Saturday.
Referring to BNP's black-flag procession, he said this party along with Jamaat wants to hinder the rule of law and economic progress so that people may suffer.
"They want to destroy the spirit of democratic values and the War of Liberation. They are enemies of 16 crore people of the country," he added.
AL joint general secretary urged all to work together to resist the terrorists like BNP-Jamaat under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
