BNP wants to create anarchy: Tofail

BHOLA, Dec 25 (BSS): Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed said Thursday BNP wanted to create anarchy in the country.

"Think about Pakistan where 146 people were shot dead in an army-run school. Pakistan became a failed country. Someone wanted to make Bangladesh also a failed country," The Minister said this while speaking as the chief guest at an inaugural function of the golden jubilee celebration of Bangladesh Television (BTV) on Bangla School ground here.

Mr Tofail said father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman dreamt of Sonar Bangladesh and he fulfilled his dream.

Now his (Bangabandhu) daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is taking ahead the country with her dynamic leadership, he added.

Deputy Commissioner of Bhola Md Selim Reza, superintendent of police Muhammad Moniruzzaman, Bhola Sadar Upazila chairman Mosharaf Hossain, Additional Deputy Commissioner Subrata Kumar Sikdar and BTV correspondent Md Abu Taher were present on the occasion.

bdnews24.com report adds: The BNP engineered Wednesday's chaos to target MP Chhabi Biswas, State Minister for Home Affairs Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said while denying allegations of the Awami League launching an attack triggering the Bakshibazar clash, reports bdnews24.com.

Kamal spoke to reporters while visiting the Netrakona-1 MP, who is undergoing treatment at the Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, Thursday.

"This is their (BNP) way. They attacked an MP as sober as Chhabi Biswas in a safe place like the hospital," he said.

BNP acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has blamed the ruling party for the clash Wednesday.
