Food Minister Advocate Quamrul Islam said Saturday BNP would not have any representation in the poll-time government for the 11th parliament polls as it has no representation in the 10th Jatiya Sangsad (Parliament), reports BSS.

"They (BNP) have no representation in the 10th parliament. So, there would not be any place for BNP in the poll-time government for the 11th parliament polls," he said.

Quamrul Islam said this while speaking as the chief guest at a discussion on current politics.

'Janatar Protyasha', a social organisation organised the discussion at the Bir Uttam Khwaza Nizamuddin auditorium at Segunbagicha in the capital with its president MA Karim in the chair.

Awami League (AL) Central Working Committee (ALCWC) member Sujit Roy Nandi, assistant secretary of AL sub-committee Advocate Balaram Poddar and general secretary of Bangabandhu Sangskritik Jote Arun Sarker Rana were the discussants, among others.

Turning to BNP's demand for midterm polls, Quamrul Islam said, "Their daydream will never come true. The next national polls will be held in the year 2019 in accordance with the constitution. There will never be any caretaker system of government to oversee the polls in Bangladesh."

He said BNP has been threatening to launch tougher movement to overthrow the government. Quamrul Islam said, "I want to say in clear-cut term that the law enforcing agencies will be tough to tougher if they (BNP and its allies) unleash violence and vandalism like that they did at the end of the year 2013."
