GOPALGANJ, Jan 9 (BSS): Road Transports and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said here today the movement of BNP means terrorism and acts of subversion.
"BNP's movement is not alike the movement of 1969 and the mass upsurge of 1969. The party (BNP) has become dependent on foreigners for its movement and politics. Its leadership usually waits for foreigners as to when they will speak in favour of their party. The government has taken measures against their movement," he said while talking to reporters after he paid a visit to Kalnaghat under Kashiyani Upazila in the district.
The minister said, "Construction work of the Kalna Bridge will start soon at an estimated cost of nearly Taka 3 billion. After completion of its construction work, the bridge will connect the South-Western region with the whole country, including the capital. It's a connecting bridge of the Padma Multipurpose Bridge. With the construction of Kalna Bridge direct link between the Benapole Land Port and the capital will also be established."
