CHATTOGRAM, Oct 01: BNP leader Dr Shahadat Hossain has been declared mayor of Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) in a case verdict.
The Election Tribunal and the Joint District and Sessions Judge Court pronounced the verdict on Tuesday.
The court directed the Election Commission (EC) to publish a gazette within the next 10 days, declaring Dr Shahadat CCC mayor.
The case was filed challenging the results of the CCC mayoral election.
Advocate Arshad Hossain, lawyer of Dr Shahadat, said that the court declared him (Dr Shahadat) mayor of the CCC.
