CA lauds role of lawyers in establishing rule of law

Chief Adviser (CA) Dr Fakhruddin Ahmed Tuesday appreciated lawyers for their role in establishing rule of law and expressed the hope that they would continue to make their contribution.
The Chief Adviser said this when a delegation of the Bangladesh Bar Council, led by Attorney General and Chairman of the Bar Council Fida M Kamal, made a courtesy call on him at his office in the city, reports UNB.
Fakhruddin Ahmed said that lawyers’ contribution in this connection would help gear up country's development activities.
The Bar Council leaders reaffirmed their commitment to cooperate with the government in further strengthening the rule of law in the country.
The delegation members also included Khondokar Mahbub Hossain, Shafique Ahmed, Abdul Baset Majumder, Munsurul Haq Chowdhury and Chisti Sohrab Hossain Sikder.
Law Adviser Barrister Mainul Hosein, Law Secretary Kazi Habibul Awal and Secretary of the CA's office Kazi M Aminul Islam were also present on the occasion.
