CAB protests hike in medicine price

Consumers Association of Bangladesh (CAB) formed a human chain in front of the National Press Club in the city on Monday protesting selling adulterated and substandard medicines and the price hike of the life-saving substances. CAB general secretary Advocate Humayun Kabir Bhuiyan, President of its Comilla chapter Mohammad Ali Hazari, CPB leader Ruhin Hossain Prince and Abdul Hasib Chowdhury of Gano Forum, among others, addressed the programme. The speakers said the prices of many essentials medicines saw a hike by 20 per cent in the last six months while adulterated and substandard drugs are being sold at pharmacies. Later, the CAB members submitted a memorandum containing their recommendations to the Directorate General of Drug Administration, according to a news agency.
