Call to enrol disabled persons in voters' list

RAJSHAHI, Aug 1 (BSS): Speakers at a press conference here today emphasised the need for enrolling the disabled persons in the voters' list for establishing their fundamental right.
They also laid emphasis on giving identity (ID) cards to the disabled persons.
The Action on Disability and Development (ADD), working with the disabled to promote human rights, in association with the Election Working Group (EWG), a network of 33 non-government development organisations, organised the press briefing.
Referring to various use of voter ID cards in every sphere of life, they urged the Election Commission (EC) to include the issue of disablement in the cards for their welfare.
Among others, EWG Director Johurul Islam and ADD human rights officer Joy Chand Karmaker and member Firoza Akhter Seema spoke at the press conference.
