Case filed against AL protesters in Kishoreganj

KISHOREGANJ, July 17 (bdnews24.com): The police in Kishoreganj have filed a case against local Awami League (AL) leaders and activists for holding a rally protesting the arrest of AL President and former prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
Sub-inspector (SI) of the Pakundia police Abdul Khaleque filed the case Tuesday under the Emergency Powers Ordinance.
Pakundia police chief Shawkat Alam said that up to 50 people were named in the case for defying the ban on political activity during the ongoing state of emergency.
AL and its front organisations in the area took part in a procession and held a rally to protest the arrest of the AL president.
The police also arrested local AL leader Bazlur Rahman and Chhatra League leader Azizul Haque Hiron from the procession.
