Case filed against former AL MP of Rajshahi-4

A case has been filed against 82 leaders and activists of the Awami League (AL), including former MP Principal Abul Kalam Azad, Upazila Chairman Zakirul Islam Santu, and Taherpur Municipality Mayor Khandakar Sayla Parveen, in connection with an attack, shooting, and bomb explosions targeting BNP supporters, reports UNB.

The complaint was filed on Saturday night under the Explosives Act with Bagmara thana by Abdul Matin (32), a Jubo Dol leader of the BNP. The case names 22 individuals and includes 60 unnamed suspects. The accused Mayor Sayla Parveen is the wife of former MP Principal Abul Kalam Azad.

Arbind Sarker, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bagmara thana, confirmed that an investigation is underway and police are actively working to apprehend the suspects. He expressed hope that the perpetrators will be arrested and brought to justice swiftly.
