BNP Secretary General Khandker Delwar Hossain has said that the 'false and fabricated' cases filed against party leaders and activists will not be able to thwart the opposition's movement, reports bdnews24.com.
"The government's obvious goal is to deter the opposition movement from gathering momentum," Delwar said.
Delwar made the comments at a function marking the BNP Senior Vice Chairman Tarique Rahman's birthday at the party's Naya Paltan office Saturday.
The leader said that the ruling Awami League (AL) was filing cases against leaders and activists who 'embodied the very spirit of the opposition's movement'. "They have been forced to go into hiding", he added.
