CHITTAGONG, Nov 3: The ward commissioners and departmental heads of Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) expressed their grave concern over the threat of killing the CCC Acting Mayor M Manjur Alam, in its 28th general meeting, held Friday.
In a unanimous resolution, they sternly condemned and protested the incident, called upon the government to ensure round the clock security to the acting mayor, and also demanded exemplary punishment of those, connected with the incident.
Earlier, some unidentified people threatened to kill the acting mayor, and cut the dead body into pieces.
Ward Commissioner Manzur Alam was assigned with the charge of CCC acting mayor on March 30.
