CEC warns against irregularities

GAZIPUR, June 20 (UNB): Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda warned on Wednesday of taking tough action against those who will be responsible for committing any kind of irregularities in the Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) polls.

The CEC came up with the warning while talking to reporters at the Deputy Commissioner's (DC)'s Office in Gazipur.

He also expressed satisfaction over the atmosphere of the GCC polls and said, "No Army will be deployed in the GCC polls."

"Though 84 days have passed since the announcement of the election schedule, the law and order situation still remains normal in Gazipur, so the voting will be free and fair", he said.
