Charge framing in Bijoy TV corruption case not held

CHITTAGONG, Nov 29 (UNB): The charge-framing in the Bijoy TV corruption case could not be held today (Thursday), as the main accused, detained Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) Mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury, was not produced before the court.
Judge of Divisional Speedy Trial Court SM Solaiman fixed December 4 for charge framing and ordered to produce the CCC mayor before the court on the day.
Deputy Director of local Anti-corruption Commission (ACC) Abul Kalam Azad last week submitted the charge sheet against three people, including the CCC mayor, to the court alleging that they misappropriated Tk 8.0 million in the name of setting up Bijoy TV.
