The charge hearing on the war crimes case filed against detained accused Razakar Serajul Haque alias Butcher Seraj, A Latif Khan and Akram Hossain Talukder of Bagerhat was held in part at the International Crimes Tribunal-1 Tuesday, reports UNB.
With all the three detained war crimes accused in the dock, prosecutor Syed Sayedul Haque Suman placed arguments in favour of framing charge under the International Crimes (Tribunals) Act 1973 that include genocide, loot, arson, rape, torture and conversion to Muslim from Hindu under duress during the 1971 Liberation War in Bagerhat.
Opposing the prosecution arguments, MA Hasan, the counsel for Serajul Haque, prayed for discharging his client from the case as all the eight allegations made against his client were 'sweeping, vague and not specific'.
