CHITTAGONG, July 2 (UNB): The police submitted charge sheet against Awami League (AL) leader Afsaruddin Mohammad Ali and six others in an arms case here Sunday night.
After investigation, Officer-in-Charge (OC) Matiul Islam of Bayezid thana submitted the charge sheet to the inspector of the Chittagong Metropolitan Court at 9:00 pm since the court was closed.
Earlier on June 5, the police in a raid recovered a 9mm pistol, two LGs, a muzzle loader and 300 rounds of bullet from an almirah of the closed Bengal Melting Rubber Factory of Afsaruddin in city's Nasirabad Industrial Area.
The police later arrested his nephew Fazlur Rahman Jewel, factory manager Osman Gani Khan and guards Jasimuddin, Rabiul Hossain, Abu Bakar and Abdul Ali in this connection.
A case was filed against Afsaruddin and six others under the Arms Act.
