A local leader of Jamaat-e-Islami was killed after being hit by a bus following police chase on the Kalshi Road at Pallabi in the city on Monday morning, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Bellal Hossain (35), ameer of Darus Salam thana unit of Jamaat and son of Giasuddin of Moheshkandi village in Shariatpur.
Witnesses said Jamaat-Shibir men brought out a sudden procession at Sangbadik Colony intersection in the area around 8:25am.
They threw brick chips on a team of police from the procession.
