Chhatra Union leader sent to jail

A Dhaka court Monday sent Bangladesh Chhatra Union leader Manobendro Deb to jail in a case that involves an arson attack on an army vehicle in the August rioting, reports bdnews24.com.
Investigating Officer (IO) Golam Rabbani Sunday asked the court to record Manob's statement. But he refused to testify when brought to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court for Dhaka Monday. Magistrate Hasan Sarowar then sent him to jail.
Corporal Kamrul Hasan filed the case with Shahbagh police station on August 26 against unnamed people in connection with the arson attack.
