China, Pakistan felicitate BD on Independence Day

China and Pakistan have felicitated Bangladesh on the occasion of the country's 51 years of Independence, report agencies.

Chinese President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Li Keqiang have felicitated their respective Bangladesh counterparts on the occasion of the country's 51 years of Independence.

"In recent years, our cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative is making sound progress, injecting new impetus into our bilateral relations and bringing more benefits to our peoples," Xi Jinping wrote in a letter to Bangladesh President Md Abdul Hamid, said the Chinese embassy in Dhaka on Sunday.

In a separate letter written to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Li Keqiang said, in recent years, the China-Bangladesh strategic partnership of cooperation maintains sound momentum, bearing rich fruits of cooperation in all areas.

Meanwhile, the foreign minister of Pakistan has greeted Bangladesh on its Independence and National Day.

"It gives me immense pleasure to convey sincere felicitations to the Government and people of Bangladesh on the 51st anniversary of the People's Republic of Bangladesh," Pakistan Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi said.

He said this in a letter to Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen on March 26, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday.
