CHITTAGONG, Mar 27 (bdnews24.com): The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for the 12th time has sought time extension to submit its further probe report on the sensational 10-truck arms haul case. As the previous deadline expires on Mar 30, investigation officer in the case Moniruzzaman Chowdhury, also a senior assistant superintendent of the CID, Sunday submitted an application to public prosecutor Kamal Uddin seeking 60 days more. The investigation officer (IO) also submitted a 409-page case dockets (in CD). When the IO sought another 90-day extension on February 22, the Chittagong Sessions Judge's Court dealing with the case had rejected the application first and granted him 35 days a day later. Judge of the court AKM Shamsul Islam also reprimanded him for not submitting the case dockets. Moniruzzaman Sunday said three Ansar members, who were on duty during the unloading of the arms at the restricted jetty, needed to be questioned. The PP confirmed having the application. It would be submitted to the court Monday when the court would decide the hearing date.
