RAJSHAHI, Sept 29 (UNB): Police submitted a chage sheet against 89 leaders and activists of BNP and Jamaat, including city mayor Mosaddek Hossain Bulbul and BNP leader Mizanur Rahman Minu, in a case filed in connection with a bomb attack last year that left a policeman dead.
Nur Hossain, inspector of Detective Branch (DB) of Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) and also investigation officer (IO) of the case, said the charge sheet was submitted with the chief metropolitan magistrate court Sunday evening.
Nadim Mostafa, president of Rajshahi district unit BNP, was also indicted in the case.
Police constable Siddhartha Sarkar and eight others were injured as miscreants hurled a crude bomb at a police vehicle in front of Loknath School in the city on December 26, 2013.
Later, Siddhartha succumbed to his injuries at the Combined Military Hospital(CMH) in Dhaka.
Boalia model thana SI Rafiqul Islam filed a case against 90 leaders and activists of 18-party alliance, including mayor Bulbul, BNP leader Minu, and over 300 unidentified people in connection with the incident on the same day.
