Commission takes statements of 8 more witnesses on DU violence

The judicial commission (JC) Wednesday took statements of eight more witnesses to the Dhaka University (DU) campus violence, reports bdnews24.com.
DU Treasurer Abul Kalam Azad is among the witnesses who testified to the commission headed by retired Supreme Court judge Habibur Rahman Khan.
Other witnesses who gave statements include Mahmud Hasan, manager of Four Seasons restaurant, which went up in flames in an arson attack in Dhanmondi after the DU violence had spread to other parts of the city since August 21.
The commission has so far taken statements from 22 people.
The JC was scheduled to visit sites of arson attacks in Dhaka, where several BRTC buses were burnt or damaged.
The commission that worked for a sixth day Wednesday was also scheduled to visit a damaged power station on English Road and some banks on North South Road in Old Dhaka.
