Compensation suit against Shajahan Khan dismissed

A Dhaka court dismissed Tuesday a compensation suit filed against Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan for 'defaming' BNP senior vice chairman Tarique Rahman through his derogatory remarks, reports UNB.
Court sources said joint general secretary of Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Forum's Dhaka chapter Advocate M Shamim Kabir Chowdhury filed the Tk 200 million compensation suit with the court of Metropolitan Magistrate M Maruf Hossain against the minister in the morning for calling Tarique a 'black sheep and insane'.
According to the case statement, Shajahan Khan described Tarique Rahman as a 'black sheep, crazy, insane and characterless' while talking to local reporters after attending a programme in Madaripur on December 11.
