Complainant's father sent to jail

BAGERHAT, Dec 25 (UNB): A middle-aged man, who's son filed a defamation case against Home Minister Sahara Khatun here Tuesday, was sent to jail Friday after his arrest under Section 54.
The police said they arrested Delwar Mollik (50), a shrimp fry trader, under Section 54 from Khairuikhali village in Morelganj Upazila Thursday afternoon.
Mr Delwar's son Rabiul alias Jewel Mallik filed the defamation case with the Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court against the Home minister and Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbubul Alam Hanif for calling BNP leader Salahuddin Quader Chowdhury a war criminal.
Mr Jewel went into hiding after filling the case.
After primary interrogation, the police produced Jewel's father, Delwar Mollik, before the court and the court sent him to jail.
