Contempt of court rule against Gaibandha DC

The High Court (HC) on Tuesday issued a rule seeking explanation as to why an allegation of contempt of court should not be brought against the Deputy Commissioner of Gaibandha Md Abdul Matin, reports UNB.
The rule was issued as the DC failed to obey rules regarding taking oath of Kamardaha Union Parishad Chairman Md Towfikul Islam.
The DC has been asked to respond to the rule within seven days. The bench of Justice Mamnoon Rahman and Justice Khizir Hayat passed the order after hearing a petition filed by Towfikul lslam.
