Cooperation of media personnel sought

RANGPUR, Aug 25 (BSS): Officials of the armed forces and administration Saturday sought cooperation of media personnel to make the project for preparation of voter list with photographs and national identity cards in Rangpur pourasabha area a success.
Technical team leader for the Pilot Project of the Armed Forces and Commanding Officer of 5 Signal Battalion of 66 Infantry Division Lt Colonel Shahriar Ahmed Chowdhury made this appeal while exchanging views with local journalists at a press conference organised by Rangpur pourasabha.
He informed the journalists that 33,443 voters have already completed all formalities at 15 registration centres in three wards where data collectors visited door-to-door and enrolled a total of over 35,000 voters until Friday.
Voter registrations began at 17 more centres in three more wards of the pourasabha in the morning and subsequently, voter registrations will be completed at 54 more centres in nine wards by September 13 next, he further said.
