Councillor among 57 BNP-Jamaat men held

BOGRA, June 9 (UNB): Police during an overnight drive arrested 57 activists of BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami, including an elected councillor of Bogra municipality from several parts of the district Monday.

Police said a joint team of police from 12 police stations conducted separate drives and arrested 57 people from different parts of the district.

BNP leader Harun-or-Rashid Saju, councillor of Ward No 15 of Bogra municipality and Hafizur Rahman, secretary of Ward No-18 Jamaat-e-Islami unit were among the arrestees.

Later, they were shown arrested in several cases.
