Country achieves cherished goal of dev in last two years: Ashraf

Minister for LGRD and Cooperatives Syed Ashraful Islam Monday said the country has almost achieved the cherished goal of development in the last two years, reports BSS.
The election pledges of the government will be implemented during its tenure, he told the journalists after placing wreath at the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at Bangabandhu Bhaban, Dhanmondi in the city on the occasion of observance of the historic March 7.
Syed Ashraf said the announcement of Bangabandhu in his historic March 7 speech at the Suhrwardy Udyan was actually the proclamation of independence of the country.
The minister, also general secretary of the Awami League (AL) said all processes have already been completed to start trial of the war criminals and the trial will be accomplished during the tenure of the present government.
Besides, the government also has taken proper initiatives to bring back Bangabandhu's killer Nur Chowdhury from Canada, he said.
