A Dhaka court Thursday ordered attachment of properties belonging to AZM Zahid Hossain, secretary general of Doctors' Association of Bangladesh (DAB), and wife Rifat Hossain, reports bdnews24.com.
Advocate Md Mozahedul Islam, who signed a lawyer's certificate for a wealth statement submitted by the couple to the Anti-corruption Commission, also faces an attachment order.
All the accused are on the run.
Dhaka senior special judge Md Azizul Haq issued the order in a case filed by the Anti-corruption Commission (ACC).
The judge asked the police to submit a report on execution of the attachment order on February 20.
The same judge issued a warrant of arrest against the three on February 12. The charge sheet in the case was submitted on February 7.
According to case details, Zahid in his wealth statement to the ACC suppressed details on his property worth Tk 11.4 million. He allegedly made property worth Tk 16. 0 million through undeclared sources.
Rifat Hossain allegedly assisted her husband. Lawyer Mozahedul Islam stands accused of helping the couple by issuing a false certificate.
