Court orders to freeze 50 bank accounts of ex-MP Sadek

A Dhaka court has ordered to freeze 50 bank accounts of former Dhaka-13 lawmaker Sadek Khan, his wife Ferdous Khan and son Fahim Sadek Khan over graft allegations, reports BSS.

Of the 50 accounts, 18 belong to Sadek, 24 to his son and eight to his wife.

Dhaka Metropolitan Senior Special Judge Zakir Hossain Galib passed the order on Monday,allowing a plea filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC).

The former lawmaker is accused of amassing illegal wealth of Tk 73 million and making suspicious transactions of Tk 4.66 billion through 29 bank accounts under his and his companies' names.

Sadek Khan's wife Ferdous is also accused of amassing illegal wealth of Tk 59.8 million and making suspicious transactions of Tk 723.2 million through 151 bank accounts. Their son Fahim is accused of amassing illegal wealth of Tk 61.2 million.
