Court rejects bail pleas of Erfan Selim, bodyguard

A Dhaka court has scrapped bail pleas filed by suspended Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) ward-30 Councilor Erfan Salim and his bodyguard Mohammad Zahid in a case lodged over possessing illegal arms, reports BSS.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Nivana Khayer Jessy passed the order on Sunday.

Earlier on November 14, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Moinul Islam also turned down their pleas for bail as police produced the duo before the court after the end of their five-day remand in two cases lodged over possession of illegal weapons.

Dhaka Additional Metropolitan Magistrate Qaisarul Islam on November 8 placed them on a three-day remand each in arms case.
