Court sends two convicts to jail on surrender

A Dhaka court sent on Monday two convicts to jail in a case filed over grenade attack on an Awami League rally 15 years ago, reports BSS.
They surrendered before the court around four months after the verdict was passed.
"Judge Shahed Nuruddin of Dhaka 1st Speedy Trial Tribunal sent former deputy Inspector General of Police Khan Sayeed Hasan and deputy commissioner (east) Obaidur Rahman Khan to jail," prosecutor Akram Uddin Shyamol said.
The court on October 10, 2018 sentenced 19 people, including former State Minister for Home Lutfuzzaman Babar, to death and another 19, people, including ex-premier Khaleda Zia's fugitive son Tarique Rahman, to life term imprisonment August 21, 2004 grenade attack charge.
