Court takes cognizance of charges

CHITTAGONG, Mar 2 (UNB): A court here on Sunday took cognisance of the charges brought against nine people, including nayeb-e-ameer of Hefajat-e-Islam Mufti Izharul Islam and his son Harun Izharul, in a case filed in connection with a bomb blast at a madrasah in October last year.

On February 10, police submitted the charge-sheet to the court.

Passing the order, Chittagong Metropolitan Sessions Judge SM Mojibur Rahman fixed March 27 for hearing on the charge framing.

The seven other charge-sheeted accused are Abdul Hye alias Salman, Habibur Rahman, Mohammad Ishaq, Monir Hossain, Abdul Mannan, Tafsir Ahmed and Mohammad Junayed.
