Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) and Socialist Party of Bangladesh (SPB) have expressed their concern at sudden rise in prices of essentials, reports UNB.
In a joint statement, the leaders of the two leftwing parties said the prices of essentials have spiraled beyond the purchasing capacity of low-income earners, and even the middle-class. Besides, food adulteration has increased due to the greed of the dishonest quarters among the traders, they alleged.
The CPB and SPB leaders observed that anarchy is taking hold in the market as the government has been "handicapped by a dishonest syndicate," which is now said to be controlling the market.
The two left parties urged all the people to protest against the price hike.
