'CPM's support for one China policy continues’

Communist Party of Bangladesh (M-L) general secretary Dilip Barua says his party will continue to support the 'one China' policy and oppose 'Taiwan's independence' to sustain Dhaka's friendliness with Beijing.

"The CPB (M-L) will continue to adhere to 'one China' policy and firmly oppose so-called Taiwanese independence so as to maintain the friendship between Bangladesh and China."

The former industries minister made the remarks in a media statement issued on Monday.

There is only one China in the world, while Taiwan is an inalienable part of it, according to him.

"The election to the Taiwan region is China's internal affair. Regardless of the result, it won't change the fact that Taiwan is an integral part of China."
