Dhaka University (DU) authorities have appointed a chief returning officer (CRO) and nine returning officers ahead of the long-awaited Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) election.
The decision was approved during a Syndicate meeting held on Monday.
DU Vice Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmed Khan made the appointments in accordance with Clause 8(F) of the DUCSU Constitution.
Md Jashim Uddin, professor of the Botany Department, has been appointed as the chief returning officer.
The nine returning officers appointed are ASM Mohiuddin, professor of the Soil, Water and Environment Department; Golam Rabbani, professor of the Social Welfare and Research Institute; Kazi Maruful Islam, professor of the Development Studies Department; Kazi Mostak Gausul Hoq, professor of the Information Science and Library Management Department; Nasrin Sultana, professor of the Health Economics Institute; Md Shahidul Islam, professor of the Banking and Insurance Department; Tariq Manzoor, professor of the of Bangla Department; SM Shameem Reza, professor of the Mass Communication and Journalism Department; and Sharmin Kabir, associate professor of the Education and Research Institute.
