DB arrests 11, including seven BCL activists

Detective Branch (DB) police arrested 11 individuals, including seven leaders of now-banned Chhatra League, from different areas in the capital.

Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public Relations) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Muhammad Talebur Rahman disclosed the development to the media.

The arrestees include Chhatra League leaders Chanchal Mia alias Enayet Karim Chanchal (35), Rashidul Islam Ronti (27), Shahid Qazi (22), Rajib Sikder (19), Raihan Payik (21), Rabiul Mia (21), and AL activist Md Hannan Mia (50).

Chhatra League Kishoreganj's Karimganj Pourashaba ward no. six Vice-President Md Golam Mohammad Sujan (50) and Chhatra League's Dhaka South former assistant secretary Rakib Hossain Jamadar (31) were also among the arrestees.

They were arrested on Thursday and Wednesday from different places in the capital.

The DMP Deputy Commissioner Rahman said legal action was taken against them.
