The Detective Branch (DB) will seek court permission to test evidences, collected over blogger-writer Avijit Roy's murder, in FBI's laboratory, bdnews24.com.
DB joint commissioner Monirul Islam said this while speaking at an official briefing at the Dhaka Metropolitan Police's Media Centre on Monday.
"Detectives are working to find those who had posted various comments in support of Avijit's murder on Farabi's (Shafiur Rahman) Facebook page"
"We are suspecting their involvement. They take Farabi as their leader. We are trying to find out if the murder was carried out by his followers or Farabi himself."
"Our primary investigation suggests that these are mostly students."
Earlier, the police said it was about to arrest 10 more suspects in connection with the killing.
RAB arrested Farabi as prime suspect over Roy's killing on March 3. The 'fundamentalist blogger' was earlier arrested for inciting attacks on bloggers, on social media, after the killing of blogger Ahmed Rajib Haider.
A bio-engineer and US citizen, Roy was hacked to death by unidentified men near the TSC intersection of Dhaka University while returning from the Amar Ekushey Book Fair on the night of February 26.
His wife Rafida Ahmed Bonya, also injured in the attack, left for US last week.
An FBI team from the US arrived in Dhaka on March 4 to assist the investigation. The agents visited the crime scene on March 6 and retraced Avijit's footsteps on the day of his murder.
