Death penalty for human trafficking

The cabinet has approved a new law to curtail human trafficking with capital punishment topping the punitive measures, reports bdnews24.com. The endorsement came at a regular meeting Monday, headed by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, her spokesperson Abul Kalam Azad told journalists. "The cabinet has approved a draft law to prevent and curb human trafficking with the highest punishment including death sentences and Tk 0.5 million fine. The proposed bill will be tabled in parliament and on approval, will become a law."
