The trial court verdict and the documents of the sensational Ramna Batamul blast case have been sent to the High Court as death references, reports UNB.
Eight people were sentenced to death and six others to life imprisonment in the case.
The Second Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judges Court sent the papers to the High Court Thursday, Supreme Court registrar AKM Shamsul Islam said Sunday.
He also said hearing on the death references will begin after preparing paper book and assigning the bench.
Hearing on the death references of 2009 and 2010 is now pending before the High Court, said SC registrar.
"So we have to wait for at least four years to begin hearing on these death references (Ramna Batamul case)," he added
On June 23, the lower court sentenced eight operatives of the banned Islamist outfit Harkat-ul-Jihad Al Islami (Huji), including its chief Mufti Abdul Hannan, to death and six others to life imprisonment in the case.
